Tapio Wirkkala was Finland's most versatile and influential designer in the second half of the twentieth century, evoking a national identity in his work by drawing on the materials and processes of Finnish handcraft and naturalistic forms.
On offer here for a limited time are several vintage, iconic and important works by Finnish mid- century master craftsman Tapio Wirkkala. These works are from the private collection of Murray Moss and Franklin Getchell. Collected over a period of twenty- five years, the majority of works were purchased from the legendary New York modernist gallery, Fifty/50. Focused now on their passion for collecting contemporary art and design, Moss and Getchell are offering highlights of their historical collection for sale.
