Michal Fronek and Jan Nemecek
(Olgoj Chorchoj Group)
Studio Olgoj Chorchoj was founded in 1990 by Czech designers Michal Fronek (born 1966) and Jan Nemecek (born 1963) who had both studied at the Academy of Arts in Prague. Their first projects together were highly experimental studies that encompassed a wide range of materials and functions, but always involving the convergence of natural materials and emerging technologies. Much of their work has been in glass, including collaborations with several leading Czech glass manufactories such as Tavena plastika Pelechov, a company specializing in production of mould-melted glass, Kavalier, producers of Borosilicate glass, the Vitrun Praha laboratory glass manufactory, the renowned Czech glass manufactory Moser, and Kvetna.
