Charlotte Dumoncel d'Argence
Designer Charlotte Dumoncel D'Argence (born 1985, France) is a recent graduate of the renowned Design Academy Eindhoven and currently works through her studio in Eindhoven.
The 'Vanitas' light was part of her Master Graduate project for the Design Academy; the two pieces shown here were also exhibited in the exhibition Jewels & Joules during the Salone del Mobile, Milan, 2009.
D'Argence writes of her 'Vanitas' light:
Contemporary Vanitas, inspired by the meaning of the 17th centuries Vanitas paintings and the alarming context we're experiencing everyday through information. By creating objects that are conveying a disenchanting vision of our world, revealing a general feeling of humility toward the fate of our world, my aim is to question the vision of the future we are given.
Each Vanitas light is unique.
