Diller Scofido + Renfro deconstructed the traditional chandelier with brilliant simplicity – a mesh sack filled with Swarovski crystals. Instead of the branching structure and pendant crystals of traditional chandelier, this "people's chandelier" is just a bag full of crystals. A single light source buried in the mass intensifies the optical effects of the cut glass beyond that of a typical chandelier.

Swarovski Crystal Palace unveiled the Light Sock by the New York-based architecture firm, Diller Scofidio + Renfro in an exhibition at Design Miami/ 2007. It has been exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago and Maison and Objet, Paris.
