Moss New York 150 Greene Street March 27 -May 30, 2008.
Opening the same week as the Armory Show in New York, DUTCH MASTERS features Studio masterworks exquisitely crafted and innovatively engineered, in metal, textile and wood from Dutch artist/designers Maarten Baas, Hella Jongerius and Studio Job. This is the New York premiere of Baas Sculpt collection which emulates the spontaneous rough-cut forms created through hand-carved hard foam model prototyping. Jongerius LAYERS collection features prototype fabric developed in collaboration with Maharam, in combination with traditional handcrafted woodwork and monumental ceramics. Perished, by Studio Job, is a suite of extraordinary furniture pieces hand-crafted in Macassar Ebony with laser-cut Birds Eye Maple inlays. On the long runway is more of the Sculpt collection, and a table which has been fire sculpted by Baas.
