Peter Marigold (born 1974, London) graduated from the Central Saint Martins arts college with a BA in Fine Art and Sculpture in 1997. Continuing his studies under Ron Arad at the Royal College of Art, London, Marigold obtained his MA in Design Products in 2006; he was awarded a Bursary from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation for the work he exhibited in the Royal College of Art graduate show.
Marigold has received commissions to design installations, furniture, and products by several important international clients, including Sony, Material ConneXion, Aram Gallery, Paul Smith, Okay Studio, Gallery Libby Sellers, and Li Edelkoort. His work has been exhibited numerous times in Milan during the Salone del Mobile international furniture fair. In 2008, his Mind Chair was included in the exhibition Design and the Plastic Mind at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Marigolds work has also been shown during the Design Miami/Art Basel exhibitions in Miami and Basel during the past two years; in June of 2009, he was awarded the Designer of the Future Award by Design Miami.
