"Eternal" is a series of forty-one acrylic blocks each containing a giant Swarovski Crystal, embedded using a complicated manufacturing process pioneered by designer Shiro Kuramata in the 1980s. The stool shown here is from a collection of twelve exhibition pieces which were unveiled in Milan during the Swarovski Crystal Palace exhibition presented during the Salone del Mobile international furniture fair, April, 2008. This piece is numbered "04/41"; only forty-one of these stools will be created, that number being Yoshioka's age when he created this work.
