Cappellini introduced the production version of the Fishnet chair to the public during the Salone del Mobile in April 2001. It was intended to be an industrially produced version of Marcel's iconic Knotted Chair, but was removed from the collection several years ago. To make the studio's white Fishnet chair, a rope made of aramid twisted around a carbon core is knotted into a shape of a chair and then impregnated with epoxy and hung on a frame to harden.

This hand-knotted chair is from a limited edition of 20 pieces. The chair is hand numbered with a gilt metal locket bearing the likeness of the artist. A Certificate of Authenticity from the Marcel Wanders Studio is provided.
