Each figure in the Boym's monumental chess set alludes to a particular icon of the last century's history, including the sinking Titanic, The Sapce Shuttle, Coca-Cola bottle, Unabomber cabin, VW Beetle and the scarred towers of the World Trade Center
Thirty-two oversized chess pieces, hand-carved in Indonesia per the Boym's specifications, are set on a monumental 4 by 4 foot chess board, which also serves as a box for the set.
