Jurgen Bey
Jurgen Bey (b. 1965, the Netherlands) graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven, the Netherlands, in 1989. From 1990 to 1998, he collaborated with fellow designer and Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Jan Konings, with whom he had formed Studio Konings & Bey; since 1998, Bey has worked through his own studio in Rotterdam. A noted educator, he has taught at several prominent design academies, including the Design Academy Eindhoven, the Icelandic Arts Academy, and Delft University of Technology. In addition to creating important one-of and limited-edition Studio works, Jurgen Bey has collaborated successfully with several prominent industrial partners, including Moooi, Droog Design, and Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum, the Netherlands, creating public installations and private
interiors, as well as furniture and objects. His work is included in the permanent collections of several international art museums, and has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art; the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam; the Neues Museum, Nuremberg; the Centraal Museum, Utrecht; and the Galeries Nationales du Grand Palais, Paris.
