Constantin Boym was born in Moscow in 1955. He graduated from Moscow Architectural Institute, then earned a Master’s degree in design from Domus Academy in Milan, and in 1988 became a U.S. registered architect. Laurene Leon Boym was born in NYC in 1964. She earned a BFA from School of Visual Arts and a MID from Pratt Institute. They formed Boym Partners Inc in New York City in 1986 and have done design work for a number of manufacturers, including Alessi, Authentics, Swatch, Flos, and Vitra, as well as a number of American museums, including the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the Museum of the City of New York. Boym Partners are recipients of eight I.D. Annual Design Awards, including the Best of Category in 2000, and of two Federal Design Achievement Awards. Their work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
