Tomáš Gabzdil Libertiny, a Slovakian-born designer based in the Netherlands, created work defined by his innovative use of materials. His highly experimental work includes vases made entirely of beeswax, another series he worked as sort of a puppet master enticing bees to create vases made of honeycomb. He was seen at Design Miami 2007 carving vases made of paper and in Milan in 2009 creating works made of solder. Other works include a blue cabinet. The dye for the blue was created from the blue ink of hundreds Bic pens the artist collected.

Libertiny is a graduate of the Design Academy in Eindhoven, Netherlands. He continues to live and produce work from his studio, Studio Libertiny in the Netherlands.
